Dr. Baiju Pallicka Vareed is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Social Work Department at MacEwan University in Edmonton. His research focuses on social work, identity, and community engagement.
In addition to his academic role, he is a writer and columnist for the AS the director Board Member iof Indo American Press Club ,he contributes to discussions on the struggles of Canadians of Indian descent and their representation in the media. Dr. Vareed has authored several academic papers on topics such as social work practices, LGBTQ advocacy, and community development. He is also organizing a Malayalam language school in Edmonton in partnership with the Malayalam Mission.
